1. Who we are

AskRepairPro is operated by VSG ("VSG", "we", "us"). VSG is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed. Contact us at vsgteamllc@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data — your name, email address, login credentials, and profile details such as your trade, rates, and preferences.
• Content you provide — questions, chat conversations, voice recordings (used for transcription), photos you upload, saved jobs, and estimates.
• Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support.
• Usage and device data — pages visited, an anonymous visitor identifier, approximate usage patterns, device and browser identifiers, and IP address.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

• Providing the service (account creation, answering your questions, storing your history, jobs, and estimates) — performance of our contract with you.
• Security and fraud prevention (rate limiting, abuse detection) — our legitimate interests.
• Product improvement (aggregated usage analytics) — our legitimate interests.
• Customer support — performance of our contract and legitimate interests.
• Marketing, where applicable — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Legal obligations — where the law requires it.

4. Who we share it with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, AI processing, and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
• Stripe (payment processor) — for payment processing, tax calculation, invoicing, and subscription management.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Data is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the UK/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority, and we will respond to requests within one month. 9. Cookies and local storage

We use essential storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme preference, and maintain an anonymous visitor identifier for usage statistics. We do not use marketing cookies. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings, though sign-in and preferences will be reset.

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
